History of Volkswagen
Volkswagen was founded in 1937 by the German Labour Front and Ferdinand Porsche. In the 1930s, "The People's Car" project started at the request of Adolf Hitler, who wanted all German citizens to have access to cars. From 1939 to 1944, Volkswagen changed its production to military vehicles due to the start of World War II. Volkswagen survived the war and owes much of its existence to British Army officer Major Ivan Hirst. From 1948 to 1961, Volkswagen became an icon of post-war West Germany. Volkswagen vehicles were first seen in the United States in 1949 and started very slowly, only selling two units in America that year. The Volkswagen "Beetle" sedan was the most popular as was known as the Type 1. The Type 2 commercial vehicle also paved the way for Volkswagen to expand its line. Soon came the Volkswagen Golf and Passat, followed by many more that soon saw Volkswagen's range of vehicles be similar to that of other European automakers. Today, Volkswagen continues to expand and innovate to introduce vehicles that will excite the public.

Volkswagen Beetle
The Volkswagen Beetle is one of Volkswagen's most popular vehicles of all time. The Type 1 as it was known by back when it was first produced in 1939 has evolved throughout decades. The Volkswagen Beetle name was last seen in 2019.
Volkswagen Corrado
The Corrado is a compact four-passenger, three-door, front-engine, front-wheel-drive, liftback coupe by Volkswagen. First seen in 1988, the Corrado had a variety of engine options that ranged from 1.8L to 2.9L. The last time the Corrado was produced was in 1995.
Volkswagen Scirocco
The Volkswagen Scirocco was first produced in 1974. The three-door, four-passenger, front-engine, front-wheel-drive sports coupe stopped production in 1992 but restarted in 2008. The Scirocco's last year of production was in 2017.
