Chevrolet's History & Auto Repair
On November 3, 1911, Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant co-founded the Chevrolet Motor Company. In 1912, the Chevrolet C Series Classic Six goes on sale, marking the first Chevrolet vehicle available to the public. By 1927, Chevy had taken over Ford, a main competitor, in sales for the first time, marking Chevy as a true powerhouse in the automotive industry. In 1950, Chevy became the first low-priced American manufacturer to offer an automatic transmission with Powerglide. Chevy continued to innovate and released all-time favorites such as the Corvette and Camaro. The 100 millionth Chevy vehicle is built in the year 1979, getting Chevy to yet another automaking milestone. To this day, only 4 out of 270 automobile brands have survived since 1911 and Chevrolet is one of them, showing the world how their cars have the longevity to survive a lifetime.
